Sr. Boys Win Lower Island Championship
by Gord Ritchie - Monday, 1 March 2010, 05:00 PM

Party
It was an amazing night that was described as one that "brought the Olympic Spirit right into the gym." Coming from behind our Sr. Boys played their heart out once again and made Stelly's proud by winning the Lower Island Championships against local rivals, Claremont Secondary School. This will be the third time this week that they came from behind to beat a higher ranked opponent.

Congratulation to all of the boys on an outstanding and well deserved accomplishment. An extra congratulations also goes out to both Jordan Elvedahl and James Blandford who were named as Lower Island All Stars.

The next step in their journey starts on Thursday @ 6:00 in Courtney at the Island Championships. To watch a live web-cast of this game online click here!

Haiti Benefit Concert raises over $9700
by Gord Ritchie - Wednesday, 10 February 2010, 11:06 PM

Jets Overhead

In the wake of the recent disaster in Haiti, students from Stelly’s Secondary School banding together to make a positive difference. With help from the school staff, alumni, and the community at large, the students of Stelly’s Global Perspectives, Amnesty Club, and Performing Arts Department put on a benefit concert for Haiti.

A huge thanks to everyone that helped in some way to make this a such a special evening. From the many students, alumni, and special guests, including the Commodore Big Band and Jets Overhead, for donating their time and talent putting on a fantastic show. To the dozens of students, teachers and volunteers, who worked behind the scenes to make this event such an enormous success. We raised over $9700 last night. This amount will be matched by the Federal Govt. bringing the total to more than $19400 for Haiti. Well done Stelly's! Once again, you have made us all very proud.
